A native 'Elizabethan,' Dr. Matos attended the Elizabeth Public School System and graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1986. Dr. Matos was raised in Elmora and continues to maintain his residence there.

Dr. Matos graduated the New York University College of Arts & Science with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Dr. Matos then attended the College of Dentistry at New York University where he obtained his 'Doctor of Dental Surgery.' Dr. Matos then completed the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Residency (4 years) at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center and also included rotations through The Manhattan VA Medical Center, New York University Medical Center's Tisch Hospital, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmay and The Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Dr. Matos has had extensive training in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including management of trauma (facial hard and soft tissue), pathology (resection and reconstruction), surgical endodontics & radicular surgery, correction of skeletofacial and dento-skeletofacial anomolies & deformities, dental implant surgery & rehabilitation, uncomplicated & complicated exodontia (removal of teeth and impacted wisdom teeth) and anesthesia services including local/regional anesthesia, intravenous sedation & general anesthesia.  All procedures are performed in an aseptic environment in the hospital (as inpatients and outpatients, depending on circumstances) or in our office surgical suites complete with a recovery room.
